Iran’s telecom sector with huge potential: The 10th iran telecom in Tehran on 21 to 24 November 2009
 
For operators and vendors alike, the Iranian telecom market offers huge potential.
 
“Since launching operations in Iran in 2006, MTN Irancell has performed strongly, gaining more than 16 million subscribers and a market share of 37% by the end of 2008, up from 23% at the end of 2007, … In comparison, MCI, the mobile arm of the state run operator TCI, has about 30 million subscribers, … MTN Irancell intends to gain an additional 6 million subscribers by December 2009, … Iran overtook Saudi Arabia in 2007 to become the Gulf region's biggest telecom market by subscriber numbers. The country gained 21 million mobile subscribers in 2008, and now has an estimated total of some 47 million subscribers, and a penetration rate in the "high 60 range" … “.

The 10th International Telecommunications Trade Fair iran telecom 09 will take place on the Tehran International Fairgrounds from November 21-24, 2009. iran telecom 2009 will once again confirm its position as the country’s major dedicated technology event!

Exhibitors profit from the success of iran telecom as a specialist international trade fair which brings together in one event all the fields pertaining to telecommunications. iran telecom 2009 is the main CIT event in Iran for everyone involved professionally in the design, planning, operation and sale of telecom services and products, from chief engineers to planners and operators as well as wholesale and retail suppliers. At iran telecom the emphasis is on innovation, trends and knowledge exchange, reflecting cutting edge technology!

In 2008, 147 exhibitors from 16 countries had presented all of their latest technologies and services and discussed business with some 30,000 visitors from all over the country. 
 
The exhibitors came from China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Iran, Italy, Kuwait, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.
 
MTN Irancell was the official sponsor, other major players participating at iran telecom 08 included world leaders such as Ericsson, Huawei, KPN, Panasonic, TCI and many others.
 
The exhibitors displayed their technologies and services in halls 8, 9, 10, 11 and 27 of the Tehran International Fairgrounds, covering a gross exhibition space of 15,000 sqm of indoor exhibition space. Net space booked for iran telecom 2008 stood at 6,696.50 sqm – 6,287.50 sqm indoors plus 409 sqm outdoors.
